“With these paintings one is left with the surprising feeling of being in an imaginary garden. Paths, flowing water, and the yearning salty sweetness of growth reach out to each other. If you wait long enough and let emotion take hold, you will be richer for the experience." Eeva Tervala KAIKU means “echo” in Finnish. It is a project which invloves 10 musicians, one poet and myself in which we play with the echoes between painting and music and poetry. KAIKU includes a solo exhibition of paintings in Galleria Pictor in Novemember 2015 and three concerts.
These encounters with others which explore communication and expression without words are essential to my painting process. I feel it is important not to put a name on everything we see and hear. This will be my seventh project with musicians.
